Monday (20 minute classes): Holla! So excited to meet you all!
HW: 1.) Please bring in a relatively recent picture of yourself that you a.) like, and b.) don't mind me keeping for the year and putting a staple or two in. 2.) Open a google email account if you don't have one already. Find this blog and respond to SOLD prompt. 3.) Summer reading responses and self-evaluation due Wednesday. SOLD quiz on Wednesday as well.

Tuesday: Introductions (two truths and a lie) and pictures. MLA formatting guidelines.
HW: Summer reading responses due tomorrow (make sure they are in MLA format).

Wednesday: Summer reading responses due. SOLD reading quiz. Discuss SOLD. Syllabus Overview.
HW: 1.) Index card goals. You need to have at least three specific goals: one in terms of writing, one in terms of reading, and one in terms of preparation/organization/class participation. Please be thoughtful and honest about these goals. What do you want to accomplish in this class this year? 2.) Vocabulary index cards. Please make flash cards for Unit 1 words. One side should have the word, the other side the definition. Quiz on Wednesday.

Thursday:Collect goals. Review vocabulary index cards. Review blog post grading guidelines.
HW: Favorite titles blog post.

Friday: Ms. Wyatt's New Books!, Read titles blog posts, last discussion of SOLD.
HW: 1.) Vocabulary quiz on Wednesday. 2.) Read The Sunflower preface-page 15.
